Nicholas Torres (he/him) is an M.A. student at the University of Michigan’s Marsal Family School of Education, studying at the Center for the Study of Higher & Postsecondary Education as a Rackham Merit Fellow.
His research focuses on college admissions and financial aid processes, with a broader interest in policies and initiatives that expand access to higher education. As a member of the STEP in CTE team, Nicholas contributes to research on perceptions of Career and Technical Education programs. He is especially interested in how efforts to improve college access can work together to support underrepresented students.
Nicholas earned his B.A. in Education Studies, cum laude, from Amherst College in 2025. His work is driven by a belief that higher education should be accessible to all, and he is committed to reducing barriers and promoting opportunity for students from all backgrounds.
